In 2013, the Government of Grenada created a Citizenship by Investment Program to attract investors of good character.  These investors would make a substantial contribution to Grenada, thereby improving the country’s economy, and creating or continuing employment opportunities for Grenada citizens.

The Citizenship by Investment Program allows applicants to invest in real estate, other projects, or the National Development Fund, and become citizens of Grenada with no residency requirement.  Citizenship is granted in 2-3 months, and passports may be quickly obtained thereafter.

Qualification

The Grenada Citizenship by Investment Program was launched in 2013 under the regulations of the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Act. Grenada’s pilot scheme allows qualified investors and their family members to apply for citizenship and benefit from visa-free travel.

To qualify for citizenship, applicants must fulfill one of the investment options below in addition to the following criteria:

Qualifications

To qualify under the Citizenship by Investment Program, the following criteria must be met:

- The principal applicant must be at least 18 years old.
- Applicants must invest a minimum USD $350,000 in a Government-approved real estate project in Grenada (held for at least 5 years); OR applicants must transfer USD $150,000 to the Government’s National Transformation Fund.
- To qualify as dependents, children must be unmarried, under age 30, and living with (and fully supported by) the applicant.
- Parents or grandparents of the principal applicant or spouse may qualify as dependents if they are over age 55, live with the principal applicant, and can
- prove financial dependency on the principal applicant.
- Applicants must not have been refused a visa to the UK (or any country on the visa-free travel list).
- Applicants must pass a Due Diligence examination, and have no criminal record.
- Applicants must complete a medical examination.
- Applications are submitted via our partners, a Government-licensed marketing agent.
- Be of outstanding character.
- Hold no criminal record.

Investment Options

1- Real Estate Investment

With its economy shifting from agricultural-dominant to service-dominant, one of the most viable options for foreign nationals is an investment in a pre-approved real estate project.

2- National Transformation Fund Donation

• Applicants must pass a Due Diligence examination, and have no criminal record.
• Applicants must be of outstanding character.
• Applicants must hold no criminal record.
• Applicants must have complete & pass a medical examination.
• Applicants have a basic knowledge of English.

INVESTMENT OPTIONS

1. Government Fund Donation

Single Applicant

A single applicant is required to make a nonrefundable contribution of US$100,000 to the Government Fund.

Family Application I

(Applicant + spouse)

A nonrefundable contribution of US$175,000 qualifies the main applicant and the applicant’s spouse.

Family Application II

(Applicant + up to three qualifying dependents)

A nonrefundable contribution of US$200,000 qualifies the main applicant and up to three dependents. An additional $25,000 is required for each additional dependent, other than a spouse.

2. Real Estate Investment

Applicants may purchase property valued at a minimum of US$200,000 in a government-approved real estate development. The investment must be maintained for a minimum of three years. If maintained and sold after five years, the property qualifies the next buyer for citizenship as well.

Nationals of the following countries and territories will be treated on a case-by-case basis: Afghanistan, Chechnya, Iraq, North Korea, Pakistan, Sao Tome Principe, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Yemen.

Exceptions are applicants who have been legal residents in other countries for 10 years or more and whose investment funds do not originate from one of the above-mentioned countries.
